Meet KHUS Muse Elvira Van Herck

Together with her mother, Elvira runs the beautiful optical boutiques Oogwenk in Oud-Turnhout and Arendonk, Belgium. Known for her impeccable sense of style, sharp eye for detail, and warm hospitality, Elvira has created spaces where fashion and eyewear meet effortlessly. The Oud-Turnhout store, in particular, feels more like a carefully curated showroom than a traditional optician, a destination worth traveling for!

We sat down with Elvira to talk beauty essentials, statement sunglasses, dream handbags, and the entrepreneurial philosophy that guides everything she does.

What are your beauty must-haves? A red lipstick is definitely one of my beauty essentials. Dior mascara, Guerlain blush, and the Hydralerum serum by Dr. Nasif are also products I can’t live without. Those are the staples in my routine and the items that never change. Of course, all neatly stored in my KHUS makeup bag.

What are your top three eyewear brands for this summer? Number one has to be Cartier. I absolutely love it this summer. Number two is Saint Laurent, and number three would have to be Tom Ford.

Tell us about your personal style. I find all of KHUS’ designs beautiful, without exception. I’m drawn to understated pieces that are easy to combine. That’s why, when it comes to accessories, I’ll always choose a subtle print. It allows me to wear clothing with all kinds of prints while keeping everything balanced. This season, the Tropics in Gold print is my absolute favourite!

What is one fashion essential every woman should have in her wardrobe? A beautiful pair of sunglasses. It’s the ultimate accessory and often the first thing you notice when you meet someone.

What’s currently at the top of your fashion wish list? Oh, there are so many things. But I would absolutely love to own the small Birkin bag in taupe. That’s very high on my list.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned as an entrepreneur?Simply do what you truly believe in. Something you can dedicate yourself to with all your heart and soul.

Where will we find you this summer? In Nieuwpoort, Belgium. I’ve traveled quite a lot already this year, so this summer I’m keeping it simple and staying in Nieuwpoort.
